I don't think every HP model of the Ficht was a dud, and many of the duds that have had upgrades may still be good motors. But, and a big but, the Ficht name tag kills the resale value of them. Honestly, I wouldn't put any … WebMay 4, 2009 · The tilt/trim mechanism on my 99 Evinrude Ficht 225 will not operate in the up position. The unit will go down however. Works the same at both the throttle control and the switch at the motor so I know the problem is not the switches. Had the same problem last fall and figured it was the relay. Bought 2 new relays this weekend, but not the problem.
